Blood Flow Restriction Training

The Closest Thing To A Cheat Code To Exercise, Recovery, and Rehab

What Is It?

Think of Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFRT) as high-altitude training for your musculoskeletal system. It is a heavily researched and effective tool for training and rehab. AI-driven blood pressure cuffs accurately occlude a specific percentage (dependent on person and location applied) of venous blood flow while you exercise. This creates a large training stimulus to your body with significantly less load and intensity required.

What Does It Do?

BFRT creates a deficit of oxygen and a build-up of metabolites with low-intensity exercises, which stimulates rapid adaptations as if you were doing heavy training. The positive effects include stronger/bigger muscles, quicker recovery times, springier tendons, healthier vasculature, improved bone density, production of growth hormones for muscle hypertrophy, increased aerobic capacity, and much more.

How Effective Is It?

The research is robust and positive in support of BFR as a safe and effective training, recovery, and rehab tool, whether you are recovering from an injury or trying to boost your strength and endurance. For example, current studies show that training with BFR is superior to traditional cardio training in increasing aerobic capacity in a third of the time, without the strength-blunting effect. Research has also shown that traditional strength training requires over twice as much load to get close to the same strength results in muscle hypertrophy, strength, and tendon adaptations.

How Safe Is It?

Research shows BFR training is very safe when used appropriately with someone sufficiently trained/certified and with the proper equipment.
